Abstract

This investigation evaluates the effect of education about the importance of pap smear test for prevention and early detection of cervical cancer based on the knowledge and practice of girls primary school teachers. The participants in this study were 163 teachers divided in two experimental and control groups.
After gathering data of pre- test in both groups, researcher performed an educational program for experimental group. Information concerning knowledge and practice of both groups in post- test period was gathered after 10 days and two months, respectively. The results indicated significant difference between experimental (24.2℅) and control group (1℅) after education ( p<0.01). In addition, the values between mean difference of experimental group knowledge before and after education, and the similar mean in control group was significantly different ( p<0.01).
